After such a long time, finally I was able to update BitFinder. Lately I just haven’t had time for anything really; life just ain’t getting any easier. My apologies to everyone for the delayed promises. Anyways…

This is the first official beta release of BitFinder. On this release a few things, has requested, were added, such has an auto select option for the duplicated files; the user can now customize the colors used in the file list; also the user now has an option to filter the files according to their type.

All requested features by users…once again, thank you for the feedback, and keep it coming.

One of the big changes on this release is also the fact that finally UAC is fully implemented; so no more annoying going around to do this and that.
Some other minor features were added to BitFinder, as well as some minor changes occur to it. Feel free to explore them and comment on those.

Once again, any bug report or suggestions are gladly welcome.
Hope to be able to update it more recently from now on.

After a few private releases to testers only, BitFinder is finally coming out to the public.

Even thought this release is still an alpha, it’s a very stable release, with many fixes and minor new features. This release should be perfectly functional, since pretty much everything on it should be working just fine (besides the presets and UAC issues with Windows Vista/7).

If you’re using Windows Vista/7 and want to use shell integration or search inside system folders/partitions and want to avoid UAC issues, just make sure you run BitFinder with administrator privileges.

On Windows XP and previews, if you are using an administrator account, there’s nothing you need to do, just run BitFinder and it will work just fine. If you are using a limited account, then you will need to use the “Run As” and run BitFinder with administrator privileges or else shell integration will not work.

On a search make sure you type in the path to search, or use the “Other” option on the presets list. Also make sure you have “All files” selected. The other presets are not implemented yet.

Any bug report or suggestions will be gladly welcome.

Here I am, taking the first step towards, what I hope it will be, a highly populated blog with people willing to try my creations and insult its author for wasting their time. Not so willingly for the second part though.

For now I will be publishing mainly software, although in the future I hope to be able to publish much more than that, since not only I develop software, I also develop some minor hardware deviations as well.

Time will tell.
